Cosa Resources Inc. (CVE: CQQ) has announced the expansion of its URSA property and the acquisition of the Polaris and Eclipse Uranium Exploration Properties in the Athabasca Basin region of Saskatchewan.
The URSA Property consists of two claim blocks totaling 5,856 hectares located in the south east portion of the Athabasca Basin, 50 kilometres southeast of Saskatchewan’s largest uranium producer, Cameco Resources Inc. and its McArthur River mining complex. The area is known as a prolific uranium mineral district, and is home to several world-class uranium occurrences, including the Phoenix deposit, which consists of an inferred mineral resource containing 1.5 million pounds of uranium.
The newly acquired Polaris and Eclipse Properties comprise two separate claim blocks totaling 9,887 hectares. They are located in the east-central part of the Athabasca Basin, adjacent to Denison Mines Corp’s Wheeler River property and Cigar Lake uranium mine.
The acquisition of these properties provides Cosa Resources with significant exploration opportunities in this highly prospective area, with the potential for the discovery of additional uranium deposits. Cosa Resources has identified several targets in the area that are believed to have significant uranium mineralization potential. The Company is in the process of developing exploration programs designed to identify and evaluate the future exploration potential of the properties.
