President Joe Biden had a slip up again…during the White House Stanley Cup Celebration, he referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as ‘President…Harris.’
The gaffe from the President of the United States caused an uproar among viewers, who were quick to point out his latest blunder during the Stanley Cup celebration. It seemed that the President didn’t realize his mistake until he saw the crowd’s reaction – a chorus of laughter and muted chatter.
The President had previously stumbled over his words during an address on Memorial Day, when he almost greeted “President Harris” instead of Vice President Harris.
It was not the first time the President has caused confusion. Last month, he stumbled through a speech at the White House Summit on COVID-19 Vaccines and referred to Vice President Harris as the “first female Vice President” (Harris is, in fact, the first female, African American Vice President). Biden later corrected himself, but the mistake made headlines nonetheless.
This time, however, the mistake wasn’t as widely reported. While some outlets did report the gaffe, it generally wasn’t met with the same level of scrutiny as the other incidents. The reaction to this error is indicative of the public’s acceptance of Biden’s slip-ups, with many people seeing them as part of his charm.
No matter how many times the President stumbles over his words, Biden clearly has the public’s trust as the leader of the United States. Regardless of the occasional misstep, the President will continue on and always strive to do better.
